Freelance acoustic and electric cellist
Georgina Hamilton is a classically-trained cellist based in London and the West Midlands. She has been studying the cello for over a decade having studied on a scholarship at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama between 2019-2023. She studied with Sandy Bartai, of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, and has also had the fortune of studying with Tim Hugh, Rosie Biss and Anne Copery.
Georgina is passionate about all aspects of performance, with a particular affinity for orchestral, chamber & session performance. Some highlights include performing as soloist for Elgar's E minor concerto with Cardiff Chamber Orchestra, performing in the CBSO Youth Orchestra with Tasmin Little, performing alongside Abel Selaocoe and touring to France and Poland. She has rich experience in performing publicly and professionally in string/piano quartets, quintets, piano trio, harp quintet and clarinet quintet.
As of November 2023, Georgina also works as Development & Marketing Assistant for the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, and thoroughly enjoys playing a supporting role in the successes of the ensemble.
